Type-shifted Tera Pokémon ex Mix Things Up!

In addition to looking fantastic with their crystalline appearance, some Tera Pokémon ex have another feature that makes them stand out—they have an Energy type other than what you might expect for that Pokémon (like a Fire-type Eiscue). The Energy type and Weakness of these type-shifted Tera Pokémon ex match their new type, but their attack costs reflect the Pokémon's original type. Otherwise, they follow the same rules as standard Tera Pokémon ex.

Harkening back to Pidgeot's card from the 2004 EX FireRed & LeafGreen expansion, Pidgeot ex's Quick Search Ability allows you to scour your deck once per turn for whatever card you want! It's a fantastic way to fill your hand with the cards you need to trounce your opponent

Fun Is Blooming

Is there a more serene setting than a sprawling field of flowers? Looking at these cards, we're hard-pressed to think of any. Dolliv and Vulpix look so content to just be chilling out among the blossoms beneath the bright blue sky. We can almost smell the sweet scents. The abstract floral setting where Lechonk finds itself is certainly wilder in appearance, but the little Pokémon seems perfectly content as it strolls along its merry way.

Familiar but New

Like the Pidgeot ex card discussed above, some cards in the Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames expansion recall cards from years past. The Darkness-type Charizard ex card brings to mind the type-shifted Charizard ★ from the 2006 EX Dragon Frontiers expansion. The Lightning-type Tyranitar ex from that same expansion also looks quite similar to the Tyranitar ex from Obsidian Flames. Similarly, pre-evolved forms of Pokémon haven't appeared in the Pokémon TCG for a while, but Cleffa returns with a few nods to its previous cards from 2000's Neo Genesis and 2010's HeartGold & SoulSilver expansions, such as a no-cost attack that allows you to increase the number of cards in your hand, and no Retreat Cost.
